Late ripe raspberry
picked, eaten, sweet.
One overripe left for birds.

Late Fruit
I picked a late ripe raspberry in the garden today, and eat it. Another one, overripe, and a couple of not quite ripe ones, I left on the bush. The one for the birds, the others for a later picking.

Seaford November 2012
On the train back home, just after sunset:
Cattle black as night
loom through curtain of dusk drawn
across water meadows.

After the dream
The first small thing I wrote in ages. It arrived after I woke from a dream.
I tried to put it into a Haiku.
In my dream your eyes
saw me. By day I saw you
graze in greener grass.

Trying to embed an Audioboo on Tension
I am testing something. I try to embed an audioboo on excessive tension which I published on the Radio Lewes site, for members of the Oyster Project. I want to see whether I can share this with a wider audience.

To be a professional.
This is a quote from A.L. Carr's novel A Month in the Country. Penguin Books, 2000
You know how it is when a tricky job is going well because you're doing things the way they should be done, when you're working in rhythm and feel a reassuring confidence that everything's unravelling naturally and all will be right in the end. That's about it: I knew what I was doing - it's really what being professional means.

Nonsense about tendencies
Some nonsense I wrote in response to someone going on about having rather too many tendencies, and considering this as a fault.....
Having tendencies is ok
as long as you know you have got them.
Having tendencies is ok
as long as you know how to change them.
as long as you know you have got them.
Having tendencies is ok
as long as you know how to change them.
I have tendencies, you have tendencies,
we have tendencies, they have tendencies -
there is an endless amount to be had of them.
we have tendencies, they have tendencies -
there is an endless amount to be had of them.
Counting them could be a tendency.
A meta type of tendency.
And counting those is a tendency -
a meta meta tendency.
And where do you think this all might end?
Just wherever you decide to stop and spend
less time on counting your tendencies.
A meta type of tendency.
And counting those is a tendency -
a meta meta tendency.
And where do you think this all might end?
Just wherever you decide to stop and spend
less time on counting your tendencies.
